Education:

• I have a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State in public relations. During my time there, I worked for App State Athletics (GO NEERS!) I also helped establish a student-run communications firm there called Second Story Media.

• I received my master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I was able to conduct research and teach a wonderful group of students over my six years there.

Personality:

• I am a coffee fanatic!

• My nose it typically buried in a book. I particularly love reading fantasy, biographies, WWII history, and romance novels.

• I have an adorable dog named Everest and sassy cat named Blue (after the velociraptor in Jurassic World). Both are rescues and have my whole heart.

• ​My husband and I have nine nieces and nephews who we absolutely adore and try to spend as much time with as possible.

• I studied abroad in Poland in 2018 and have also been to Germany to present research and learn more about Lutheranism with Lutheran Students of Appalachian. Intercultural understanding is key in our industry.

• I love gardening, both veggies and flowers. My family has its own tree farm, and that is most of my inspiration. It's also a great way to minimize food waste!

• Softball was my sport of choice growing up, but I'll accept tickets to any live sporting event.
